In my opinion, creating a backup is more important than anything else. No matter what I did wrong, I can open the backup and do it again. Conventional wisdom statement: Gender and age do not affect IQ. The test of the statement starts with collecting IQ data for different genders from some reliable scientific research. Also, separating these data into different age groups, and I can make a graph base on these data. As a result, I can easily see if there is any difference.
