In taking the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course, I reinforced my understanding of several concepts taught in MIS 3406, including network infrastructure, database configuration, and cloud-native applications. I also learned more advanced concepts such as how to use auto-scaling to adjust the number of instances to meet the fluctuating traffic a network can experience. I look forward to taking the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (CLF-Co1) Exam in the near future on my path in becoming a cloud architect.

There was a couple of things that I’ve learned through this project. First of all, the need to use outside APIs to accomplish my task was something that I never encountered before. The need to incorporate not only my JavaScript code, but other services that was not created by myself was challenging at first, but through my studies in class, the task became much easier. This was also my first time handling JSON files completely by myself, the need to first understand the data and then apply it to create a desired chart is the key to succeeding in this project. I felt much more confident handling this type of data as well as creating charts accordingly.

1. The purpose of this project was to show that we can take a raw form of data and transform it into something that makes sense to someone. In this case we use visual aids.

This API is used to investigate a connection between certain New York City neighborhoods and the more prevalent licensed industries in those neighborhoods The most frequent business sector in places like the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Manhattan is cigarette retail dealers, while the most frequent business sector in Queens, Staten Island, and places outside of New York is home improvement contractors. Information of this nature is crucial and it is interesting because it might shed light on the socioeconomic conditions of certain regions and give more insight on why some industries are as well-liked as they are. With this information, I can conduct further research in these areas to highlight why the data indicates what it does. For my final project, even if I don’t use the these variables and parameters and a treemap chart, I can still use this information to gain a deeper understanding of why certain firms operate in various New York neighborhoods the way they do and how this might be extended to the rest of the US

For my MIS2402 class, I had a project where I had to create a dynamic web-based chart of API data that was interesting to me. What resulted from my project was an application that created two dynamic web-based charts, one that was a pie chart, and the other was a line chart. This project helped me improve my use of the Javascript function .getJSON to get data from API data, but it also helped me learn how to turn data that is not immediately usable into data that will work with functions like .sort. I also learned how to use the ImageCharts API, which will probably be useful to me in the future as well.

“Become an Agile Project Manager” learning course in linkedin was very helpful for me, especially for my MIS 3535 course. This course also gave me more knowledge about project management. It taught me how to achieve a high level of performance and quality. It also taught me how to deliver agile projects that provide exceptional business value to users. It taught me as an agile project manager how I can empower my team and clear potential roadblocks to pave the way towards project success.

Learning design thinking: lead change in your organization

This course taught me how to help teams adopt a design thinking mindset and provides examples from author Turi McKinley’s work at Frog, a global design and strategy firm that transforms businesses at scale by creating systems of brand, product, and service.

Microsoft project essential training steps are especially helpful towards project management. It teaches the audience different functions of excel which are used in many industries. For example, how to set up a project, create tasks, link and time tasks, and assign tasks to different resources.

   1. Throughout this course, I learned about design thinking mindset. including the roles and spaces required for sucess. I also learn the methods to engage people with different characteristics from extrovert to introvert. I also learn about service blueprint is a diagram that visualizes the relationships between different service components.

 

Throughout this course, I learned about the mindset of Design Thinking: “a user-centered way of solving problems.” The lessons gave me advice on how to become a good design thinking lead, regarding goal setting and managing people of diverse skillsets. Turi McKinley, instructor for this course, discussed extensive strategies used in Design-thinking, from collaboration techniques to service blueprints. I look forward to implementing these methods in organizations alongside what I have learned from the Lead Global Digital Projects MIS 3535 course regarding become a change agent.
