Write-up on a data-related topic

There is data being constantly generated in today’s age when we communicate our friends on Facebook or use Amazon to shop for something. There is always a digital footprint being generated on every digital transaction we make, which is almost everything today. All this data is too complex to simplify and too large to store in one format. Therefore, Big data was invented. Big Data can be described as extremely large data sets that may be analyzed computationally to reveal patterns, trends, and associations, especially when the data formats are in images and voice form. Today, most of the information we receive is in unstructured form, meaning they can’t be put on an excel sheet. This information is in the form of images and videos on Facebook, recorded telephone calls and email. Therefore, Big Data often uses analytics involving A.I (Artificial Intelligence) and Machine Learning. Big Data has solved problems over the years using these techniques such as curing diseases and prevent the spread of cancer by using data-driven medicine, which analyses vast number of medical records and images to present early detection of the disease and develop new medicines, prevent crime by using data-driven strategies based on their own intelligence and public data sets in order to deploy resources more efficiently, and explore distant planets by using million so of data points and using models of eventuality, in order to find the perfect landing zones for the Rover. Big Data is presently being used through an “as-a-service” platform. Which means that the organization rents the server space, software systems, and processing power from outside providers. All the work is being done on the service provider’s servers. This increases flexibility and makes the data-driven model more efficient by reducing the needs of servers, premises and technical labor. Although the Invention seems to be beneficial, there have been concerns regarding the data privacy and data security. In terms of privacy, we would be sharing personal information about ourselves and daily we have been asked to limit the amount of information accessible to Big data powered apps. Other problems, that the invention faces is security. The data is stored on servers all over the world, which raises the question of how the companies keep the data safe especially since the recent Facebook scandal has put into question the very existence of Big-Data.

Developed a prototype of an interactive map of Temple University’s campus using Justinmind

Firms lose money due to software mismanagement because of a number of reasons ranging from under-use, management difficulties, or SLA/Terms of service agreement violations.  Across the board firms lack the tools needed to properly manage software, leaving themselves little choice but to either over allocate their software, or  under allocate and risk violating a pricey service level agreement, leaving them exposed to thousands, or millions of dollars in fines depending upon the violation. Our platform equips businesses with the tools they need in order to monitor, manage, and provision their software needs for the least amount of effort.

• Compliance reports for effortless software auditing
• Software provisioning  to remove the headache of end-user software management

The primary differentiator for our group is that we provide consultative service to clients so that we can guarantee that our users not only understand the results of our software’s analysis, but also that decision makers within the business units know what actions to take to implement our suggestions.

Created a web based application that was able to generate quotes, and communicate with a database to take customer information, and show employees order information. This application used a login to secure the order information page. It also used inputs, and fetched an array from the database to display an order table.

The goal of this project was to dig a little deeper into a topic that was related to data analytics, but was not extensively covered in class. I chose to do my write-up on something that really interests me, IoT. After introducing what IoT is and giving a quick background on it, I then tied it into what we learned in class. I talked about how autonomous cars use machine learning algorithms to detect patterns in the data that is getting taken in from the car’s externals cameras to map out its environment and be able to drive autonomously. My class project is about Artificial Intelligence. In the project, I discussed brief overview about Artificial Intelligence. I also discussed about how Artificial Intelligence is relates to the topic which we covered in class.
