I can see the benefits to both sides – for me, it might mean closer dealerships or deals aimed at people who live in my area!

This is really amazing and I do think it will have a huge impact – being able to see where customers stop, what they pick up, how fast they move by a product will provide tons of insight into the consumer mind – what is truly amazing will be to see how companies can analyze the data, considering how much they will be able to collect!

Great article on the need for a brick and mortar store – though I am not sure I am sold – it will be interesting to hear what everyone else is thinking. Here’s another article that you might find interesting as you read and think about the topic:

Great article about the rise of B2B commerce – Interestingly, but not surprisingly, Amazon is already in the marketplace with amazonsupply.com (https://www.internetretailer.com/2014/07/22/amazon-and-ebay-grow-their-b2b-online-sales) however, their model seems to be a little different.

I think this is definitely up and coming – think about now, when you are on facebook and it starts showing ads for things you were looking at over the last couple of days – couple that with location services and twitter and I think it makes a ton of sense.

This article really feeds nicely into the chapter and the video! I also really liked learning more about Uber and its meteoric rise! Some of the issues I see are safety and security since the drivers are responsible for their own cars – but I guess that could happen with a cab driver too… I am interested to hear what you all think tonight!

Great article about how these companies are using innovations in technology to improve the front line experience of the customer. I have not yet experienced this technology, but I can see how it would be really beneficial. I would liken it to when you go to Wawa and order your lunch from the machine now instead of placing it with the deli-worker…

OWLbox, powered by box.com, is Temple’s free resource for storing, sharing and collaborating on files. The OWLbox website offers students, faculty, and staff 50GB of storage space, access to files anywhere including mobile devices, and sync capability with desktop files.
There is a Facebook-like feature where you can comment and exchange feedback on files you are sharing. The box service automatically keeps previous versions of the documents. In addition you can assign tasks to a shared file and supply a due date.
Your assignments should be submitted via OWLbox for grading. Once graded, you will be able to view all feedback via this tool. Please use the following email to add me as the collaborator to your assignments: tud06882@temple.edu
You should create a folder in OWLbox called Your Last Name_MIS2101_Spring 2015 and add me as a collaborator. You will then upload each assignment to this folder by the due date.

2. What can an organization do with all of the data collected?
3. How does the CIO & IT add value to the organization?Really nice…[Read more]
