Good data will always be better than guess work. In my current position I can use data collected over several years for forecasting what will be needed in the years to come. Without this information I would essentially be guessing what kind of systems or rules we would need in place. The other side would be poorly collected data. With bad data…[Read more]

One area I could see a decision tree being useful would be for personal purchases. There are many things to consider when buying something, especially higher priced items. Of the two recent charts we discussed in class, I believe Swimlane’s may be most useful to me. Several projects and tasks I work on require multiple levels of approval and checks before being finalized. Using Swimlanes would certainly help organize the approvals needed for the various tasks. I currently work with databases in SAP everyday. Right away it appears that this class will better help me manage the data that I work with.
