As much as I like Duplex and the intentions, I think it would be better if there was an on screen service like an online booking system. I tested the duplex feature on my google pixel, it works quite well, i get a few spam calls which i just let the duplex system reply on its own, you can also select what the system will say to the caller as well.…[Read more]

Apple having too much say in the payment space is a bit worry some. They built their own APIs in safari for payments which is a real crumby thing to do considering a standard was being built in parallel. I’m sure they can make good experiences but I don’t really trust them to think beyond Apple. Since I am not a regular apple user, things like thi…[Read more]

Apple will soon be entering video subscription services. If Apple follows its typical strategy, these new “services” will be overpriced and underwhelming, it will be interesting to see wh […]-
I am curious to see what Apple has up its sleeve for the service. They will need to come up with some heavy hitters in order to gain users in an already saturated market. We already have Hulu and Netflix, with Amazon providing streaming when a part of their Prime service. Now it seems that Disney and Apple want to jump into the fold. At some point, the streaming market will become so expensive that it will leave a lot of content un-watched. What looked like a great idea for cord cutters is turning into another cash grab. I get a sense of impending doom when it comes to streaming. What looked like perfection is now becoming a growing pain.
-
I agree with Apple products being overpriced and underwhelming, however, since the brand is so well known people will still support the service. Also agree with what you said about Apple creating original content. If Apple is able to create their own movies and shows, that will keep customers coming back for more. It will also be Apple exclusive so people will need to sign up for their streaming service in order to watch them. Looking forward to see what steps Apple will take with their new tv streaming service.

I like cashless places. I get points/cash back, I don’t have to wait for the person counting change in front of me that being said, we should not obsolete cash as payment system. It doesn’t make sense for us to rid of it entirely basing on the unscientific explanation which is provided by retailers and corporates. Methods of payment are an…[Read more]

The world moves too fast for this sort planning. It’s been tried over and over again. Railroads didn’t plan for airlines. Kodak didn’t plan for digital cameras. TV networks didn’t plan for cable which didn’t plan for streaming. Nokia didn’t plan for Blackberry which didn’t plan for iPhones. And 20 years ago nobody planned for Google. Department…[Read more]

I was kind of surprised that TFL didn’t make more out of the Oyster Card system like Suica and Octopus in Tokyo and Hong Kong respectively… UK is strong a banking nation. Also using Apple Pay is a mess… if you don’t tap in and out on the same device you are charged a penalty fare and you’re charged twice… not sure why that didn’t create an Oys…[Read more]

Tesla pushed an over the air update that include a feature call dog mode. This feature uses automatic sensors to maintain a comfortable temperature for pets inside the vehicle when you have to run errands, such as […]
-
I find this very interesting. Leaving dogs unattended in a car has been an arising problem recently. Tesla has definitely taken advantage of this opportunity. However, isn’t leaving dogs unattended in a running car mean the dog owner is irresponsible? This implementation might influence Tesla owners to leave their dogs often since they have this new feature to rely on. I am definitely confused whether to praise Tesla or wag my finger at how they are making humans lazy.
-
I’m always amazed by Tesla. The other day I was having a conversation about how five years ago I never thought they would take off but now they are a major player in the automotive industry. By adding small features like this, Tesla differentiates itself from competitors and sets trends in the market. Just a few days ago, Tesla released romance mode for Valentines day. It displays a fireplace in the center infotainment screen and plays love songs. Both modes show the advantages of being able to send updates to all Tesla vehicles.

I agree with everyone saying Tesla is brilliant at solving problems and this feature may be small, but it will provide relief for people passing by the car and seeing pets inside. This will benefit both pet owners and regular pedestrians as the owners will know that their pets will be perfectly fine inside the car while the owners are away. Also, pedestrians will not break the car’s window to ensure that the pets are comfortable inside.

Major technology innovations are slowing down and it wasn’t as it used to be. In the past people are willing to trade in their smartphones as soon as a new one is release because that is the latest and greatest […]
-
Apple has started a trend of high-priced smartphones that most of the other major players are adopting, This has led to a dip in consumer purchases. Furthermore, I also agree the a lack in innovation has also deterred many consumers from trading in old devices or purchasing new ones. However, smartphones continue to be the most popular technology as they are so heavily integrated in our daily lives. I hope that in the future, companies become more innovative to increase interests of consumers.
-
It is clear to me that innovation in the smartphone industry has decreased in the last 3 years or so. Yes, every new phone, iPhones especially, is better than its early model, but there hasn’t been any new neck breaking features. Also some older phones nowadays seem to be keeping up to speed than before. Perhaps that is one aiding factor to why consumers are not upgrading to the latest models.

Steve Jobs was a good presenter, I believe the success of the iPod previously release help contribute to his perception. In the presentation he hit the main points for most consumers looking for a new smartphone. He has pride in what he present and confidence that it will be the best thing so far. He tells a story and always links back to the core…[Read more]

The most important aspect of data visualization in my view is View Diversely. I believe this because No humans are the same, everyone has a different view of things no matter what the topic is. Its also nice to look at the same data from different perspectives so one can get different insight of the data to answer questions like why and how. If…[Read more]
