The created website is comprised of four linked HTML files that also incorporate CSS for aesthetics and JavaScript for functionality. The website is designed to mimic the home website of a boxing gym and includes both image and hyperlink tags in JavaScript. The website also includes a built-in calculator to calculate the cost of both a gym membership and boxing classes.

Through Turi McKinley’s course “Learning Design Thinking: Lead Change in Your Organization” I was able to get a better understanding of how to adopt and lead a user-centered design thinking approach to drive meaningful innovation. The importance of creating spaces that garner creativity and making complex ideas tangible through visualization is necessary when driving innovation. The course highlighted the value of leadership in aligning teams, managing creative flow, and setting shared goals to guide collaboration effectively. Tools like journey mapping, hypothesis generation, and service blueprints stood out as practical methods to translate ideas into actionable solutions as well. Additionally, I gained an appreciation for prototyping as a powerful way to refine concepts and noticed how spreading design thinking as a cultural mindset can really change organizations. This experience deepened my appreciation for the importance of active leadership, structured creativity, and iterative learning in creating lasting change.

AWS Academy provided a robust understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and architecture best practices. Cosmic Escapes

The project I decided to work on, is called “Cosmic Escapes”. Cosmic Escapes is a fictional website that allows you to travel to different planets, as well as different galaxies and explore and enjoy the experience. Not only does it offer transportation to those planets, but it has pre-built luxury hotels, living spaces and amenities. It also has an option to calculate the total cost for your stay. Working on this project taught me a lot about implementing good looking designs and CSS, as well as using Javascript to give the user a smooth experience without any errors or issues.

Completing the AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course provided me with a solid understanding of cloud computing concepts, AWS services, and best practices. Some key takeaways that I took include the benefits of cloud computing, such as scalability and cost-efficiency, and an overview of core AWS services like EC2, S3, and RDS. I learned about AWS’s global infrastructure, security tools like IAM and CloudTrail, and networking features such as VPC and Load Balancing. The course also covered storage options, database solutions, monitoring with CloudWatch, automation using CloudFormation, and cost management strategies. This foundational knowledge will prepare me to design and manage cloud solutions effectively.

Microsoft Project 2016 Essential Training is one of the courses I took, and it was sponsored by LinkedIn Learning. Its purpose is to help people understand the Microsoft Project fundamentals. This training covered topics that anyone wanting to use Microsoft Project must know to use it effectively. This includes topics like setting up dependencies, managing resources, and using tools to track project progress. In this learning, I took on the role of a participant and learner, and I gained a much better understanding of the topics previously mentioned.

The AWS Academy Cloud Foundations course has been a great experience for me. It enriched my understanding of cloud computing including the basic principles and how they work in AWS. This training covers everything from what makes up a cloud infrastructure to hands-on practice with some of the most important Amazon Web Services like EC2, S3 or VPCs. There is no doubt that each of these modules gave me invaluable knowledge about technology that is all around us – the Cloud. They showed me practical exercises and explained real-life situations where we need to use these services in order to make our cloud infrastructures scalable, resilient and secure. Besides security this program also focused on cost optimization so now I know what are good ways not only to save money but also design efficient solutions which meet technical requirements within given budgetary constraints.
