I think the most important takeaway was that data is everywhere in our daily lives and it how it affects us. Also, it shows how the data affects the decisions we make. If I had to explain this class to a scholar, I would tell them that they would learn how to interpret data into information and knowledge. Also, how to understand data visualization…[Read more]

One data driven website I use is Blackboard to check the syllabuses, see what assignments I need to work on and check grades. If I were to turn it into a spreadsheet, the columns would be homework grades, quiz and exam grades, my attendance and my overall grade in the class. The names of the classes would be in the rows. That is how I would turn…[Read more]

I use KPI by seeing how much time I am putting into my classwork and homework. It is specific and measurable because I can see how much time I am working on my work. Also, it is achievable because I can choose how I make my schedule in order to have some time to work. It is relevant because everyone spends time working in order to pass classes and…[Read more]

I have worked in Excel on many different occasions, but I have never made any of these mistakes. However, I would say that the mistake that everyone should try to avoid is starting to work on a database without doing a full backup first. It is good to periodically save what you are working on, so you do not lose it especially if it is for work and…[Read more]

In my opinion, the most important is view diversity. By looking at the same data in different ways, different conclusions can be made. Also, people might see things that they did not see in the other version of the data. I could also help people understand things that they did not understand before. For example, in my microeconomics class, the…[Read more]

I think the most important takeaway is being bias. Some people just write bad reviews just because they have a problem the first time they go there. They do not give the places a second chance. For example, last week I went to Dave and Buster;s with some of my friends. Before I went i looked at a few of the reviews some customers have posted. Most…[Read more]

A piece of conventional wisdom I have heard is that “Allergy medicines will cure allergies”. To test this statement I would collect data on how many people have allergies and if their medications actually make the allergies go away. The responses would then be categorized between their medications work or not.
