Personal Interests

Music

I enjoy playing musical instruments. In high school, I played percussion for 1.5 years for my school’s symphonic band. Albeit my short involvement, I was able to learn many new instruments: timpani, snare drum, bass drum, temple blocks, cymbals, triangle, tambourine, gong, chimes, xylophone, glockenspiel, bells, and marimba. Moreover, I had the opportunity to perform on multiple occasions, including our school’s annual performance in Esplanades, Singapore’s national performing arts centre.

I also enjoy singing. Although I’ve never had a professional vocal training or experience, it is one of my favorite pastimes. I used to be a singer for my middle school’s band, which gave me the opportunity to perform at multiple school events. Once, we participated in a band competition and won second place! I was also on the worship team of my churches both in Indonesia and Singapore. I’m currently trying to spend more time to practice ukulele so that I could sing and play an instrument at the same time.

Traveling & Photography

Outside of school, I enjoy traveling and photography. Coming from an international background, I have experienced living in countries with vastly different cultures, and that experience inspires me to explore what other kinds of cultures are out there. What excites me about traveling is the ability to learn new languages, experience local cultures, explore new places, try different cuisine, and last but not least, discover nice spots for pictures!

Below are some pictures from my most recent travel to Eastern Europe.
